A vision for the Upper Lee Valley

Our vision is to transform the Upper Lee Valley into ‘North London’s Waterside’, using the natural assets of the waterway and parkland setting to create a vibrant, sustainable and successful place where people and businesses want to start, stay and grow.

This will be achieved by forging new partnerships between councils, public agencies, local communities and major national and international investors. The purpose will be to deliver development opportunities within the Upper Lee Valley, supported by the Mayor of London and central government.

This will be achieved through:

  • Creating collaborative partnerships with investors and councils

  • Attracting major national and international firms to the Upper Lee Valley

  • Developing key mechanisms and groups to support new initiatives

  • Enhancing North London’s Waterside - opening up the waterways and green spaces

  • Improving amenity for diverse communities

  • Encouraging mixed-use developments

  • Meeting national and regional housing and employment targets

  • Encouraging investment in, and the intensification of, existing industrial and employment uses
